TOM NATURAL produced in the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Gardens on Sundays in the months of November and December, 2001, a tribute to the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim with musicians such as Mauro Senise, Maurício Einhorn, Altamiro Carrilho, Gilson Peranzetta, João Carlos Assis Brasil, Andreia Ernest Dias, Leandro Braga, Luis Alves and the Rio Jazz Orchestra. SAMBA SCHOOL UNIDOS PELA PAZ , In partnership with Mercado Promoções, ABIH, Rio Convention & Visitors Bureau and Riotur, The Samba School Unidos Pela Paz was created and developed in less than 30 days, and paraded on December 30, 2001, in Ipanema, with around 600 people taking part. It was a great success and is now on the official Riotur calendar. |

RIO EMBRACES BAHIA WITH THE BLESSING OF THE ORIXÁS (voodoo divinities). , Commemorating the exhibition of sculptures of the divinities by Tati Moreno, the Department of Culture of Rios City Hall requested this show, which was performed on January 26, 2002 on the Rodrigo de Freitas lagoon near to where the sculptures floated on the surface of the lagoon, and among those taking part were Danilo Caymmi, Afoxé Filhos de Gandhi and the Old Guard from Portela, Mangueira and Salgueiro Samba Schools. |
