ORFEU - 1995

Almost 40 years after his debut in the Municipal Theater in Rio de Janeiro, the play Orfeu da Conceição returns to the same stage, this time directed by Haroldo Costa.
– Orfeu was born a classic. It speaks of passion, envy, betrayal, and loyalty, subjects that are a constant part of human life. This is why it’s eternal.

Orfeu and the comeback

In March 1956, the painter Carlos Scliar was about to take a trip into the interior of Brazil, but had to cancel. His friend Vinícius de Moraes invited him to join a project that would change the face of Brazilian theater: the production of the play "Orfeu da Conceição". Scliar would coordinate all the graphic design for the production. For the return of the play in 1995, Scliar did the job again and designed the cover for the new program.
